Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Crafted Life ("we", "us") for the use of WriteBand. By creating an account or using WriteBand you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

WriteBand gives AI-generated feedback on writing practice essays: estimated band scores for four criteria, sentence-level suggestions and a sample rewrite.

Scores are estimates produced by an AI model, not official IELTS results. WriteBand is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to IELTS, the British Council, IDP or Cambridge University Press & Assessment. "IELTS" is a trademark of its owners and is used only to describe the exam our feedback helps you practise for. Your real exam score may differ.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area, or have a parent's consent). Give accurate information, keep your password secret and tell us at [email protected] if you think your account is compromised. You are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Credits and VIP passes

• One grading credit grades one essay. Free credits are added as described on the pricing page.
• Purchased credits do not expire, have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
• A VIP pass lasts for the period you buy and does not renew automatically. Buying another pass extends it.
• If grading fails because of an error on our side, the credit is returned automatically.
• We may change prices and plans for future purchases; this does not affect what you have already bought.

4. Payments

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Polar (polar.sh). Polar is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and handles payment, tax, billing questions and returns. Polar's buyer terms apply to your purchase. Refunds follow our Refund Policy; when a payment is refunded or charged back, the credits and VIP days of that purchase are removed.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to the essays and comments you submit. You give us a licence to store and process them to provide the service, including sending them to our AI provider for grading. When you share an essay or post a comment, you also let us display it publicly with your display name until you remove it. Do not submit content you have no right to use.

6. Community rules

Be respectful. Do not post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, spam or that contains someone else's personal data. We may hide or remove content and restrict commenting or accounts that break these rules. You can report content from the shared essay page.

7. Acceptable use

Do not:

• use bots, scripts or automated means to access the service or to collect its content;
• try to get around credit limits, rate limits or security measures;
• resell, copy or build a competing product from the service or its output at scale;
• use the service to break the law or the rules of any exam.

8. Our content

The WriteBand software, design, question bank and branding belong to Crafted Life. You may use the feedback you receive for your own study.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". AI feedback can be wrong or incomplete, and we do not guarantee any exam result, uninterrupted availability or that the service is free of errors.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Crafted Life is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using WriteBand and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Unused credits of an account closed for abuse are not refunded.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; significant changes are announced in the app or by email before they take effect, and continuing to use WriteBand means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
