Refund Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Grading credit packs and VIP passes bought on the WriteBand website are sold by Polar (polar.sh), our Merchant of Record, which handles payment, tax and refunds. The charge appears on your card statement under Polar's name.
1. 14-day refund
You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase if:
- for a credit pack: you have not used any credit from that pack;
- for a VIP pass: you have not opened any community essay with the pass since you bought it.
After that, or once the purchase has been used, purchases are not refundable, except as described below.
2. Technical problems
If grading fails because of an error on our side, the credit is returned to your balance automatically. If something else went wrong with a purchase (for example you were charged but did not receive your credits), contact us and we will fix it or refund you.
3. Customers in the EU and UK
You have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. By using credits or VIP features immediately after purchase, you agree that the service starts at once and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal for the part you have used.
4. How to ask for a refund
Use the link in the receipt email from Polar, or email [email protected] with the email address of your WriteBand account and the order or receipt number. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method; it may take 5–10 business days for the money to appear.
5. What happens after a refund
When a purchase is refunded or charged back, the credits and VIP days of that purchase are removed from your account (credits already used stay used). Please contact us before opening a chargeback with your bank; we can usually resolve the problem faster.
6. Mobile app purchases
Purchases made in the WriteBand mobile apps go through the Apple App Store or Google Play and follow their refund policies; ask Apple or Google for those refunds.
